I am reminded of one of the finest basketball coaches you have never met--a personal friend of Bobby Knight who sent many players to the College ranks. Phil Buck (Sr) coach of the Madison Heights Pirates did for many years take a very intelligent team (that happened to be mostly white if I recall) and pit them against the cross town rivals who had a height advantage and were (again as I recall) mostly black. During time outs Phil would have his team huddled around a chalk board thinking their game. I happened to attend the school that was that cross twon rival and while in junior high Sports Illustrated did an artical about what might be the greatest High School basketball team ot the (then 1971) Century at the year 1974.
Actually that year probably was the greatest basketball team of the century and as we were behind several points at the SemiState I saw one of our players look at me with bloodshot-dopesmoking eyes "uh-oh"...sure enough talent did not prevail and sadly of that great team many have possibly done time.
Phil Buck's teams on the other hand are community leaders and used the game as a stepping stone to maturity and not to a new Escalade, some "bling" and a few Ho's.

I'm reminded of the 1990 or 1991 Princeton team that gave fits to the UNLV team loaded with future NBA players.
